ASSESSMENT IN KS3

Currently, progress is assessed in KS3 using APP. Pupils should be aware of their strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement, as well as have an understanding of what is expected of them at the next level. All this is monitored using an individual Pupil Progess Booklet which can be viewed by clicking the image on the right.
Understanding the Criteria.
At least one of these skills will be covered each lesson and will be included in the lesson objective.

Reading:
Describe, retrieve, quote, deduce, infer, interpret, identify, explain, comment, relate.
Writing:
Clarity, purpose, effect, accuracy, syntax, structuring, ideas, construct, cohesion, imaginative, thoughtful, interesting, appropriate.
Speaking and Listening:
Purposeful, explore, adapt, listen, respond, question, sustain, impact, meaning, reflect
